I wish the media would pull its head in and stop telling us how to think. all I have to say is good on the swiss as I want to go to switzerland to see swiss not muslims or any other. and the same for every other european country. the only people outraged by this are the media and nitwit politicians.

We are sick of seeing the media saying Europeans are horrified at this decision.
Every European I know would vote the same way.
The tide has turned.
It is not just the new buildings that are a problem; we need to remove all those already built along with their contents.
The media is trying to exploit this issue to whip up hysteria from the muslim/PC-brigade to demonise the idea of direct democracy and gag the will of the people.
We should all be voting on the issues that matter to us and not leave everything up to the elite, who ship in hoards of low wage/uncivilized slaves to line their own pockets, without caring about the effect on local working class communities.

Swiss exported goods worth SFr14.5 billion ($14.49 billion) last year to Muslim countries, seven per cent of total exports.
We should be angry about anti-Muslim racism everywhere -the worst offenders being the UK/US governments- but we should not be angry about people in Switzerland having a democratic vote regardless of the outcome.
muslims shouldn’t force themselves on other people, thats not endearing behaviour at all. switzerland is one of the most indifferent countrys out there, i feel thet the establishment of a significant muslim following in that country is nothing but malicious attempt to compromize that countrys forein policys (your forcing their hand).
The actions of the Saudis (if unislamic) are not something that a European Muslim should have to be held responsible for! Do we accuse the British of being responsible for the actions of the French or the Italians, just because they share a a long-standing Christian heritage?! Of course not. In fact, if you look throughout the Middle East, you’ll find that there are hundreds of churches all over the place, including Muslim countries!
First of all, if we’re going to form a judgment of Islam – then we should base it upon the scripture/revelation. And there is nothing in there that bans the existence of Churches in an Islamic State. So it’s not something that all Muslims (or Islam) should have to answer for.
I never quite understood this logic that is often employed by non-Muslims who are anti-Islam.
I you accuse the Saudis of being restrictive and unfairly discriminating against non-Muslims, then why on earth would you then stoop to that level yourselves?! What exactly are you trying to prove? That you can be as barbaric, unfair and restrictive as the Saudis?! Oh how noble and grand of you(!).
Even “moderate” Muslims are much more extremist than even the so called “bible thumping Evangelicals” in the Midwest here in the US. The term “moderate” Muslim is a fucking misnomer, because the majority of Muslims in Europe do NOT want to give up certain aspects of their religion which are specifically opposed to Western civilization.
I am sorry, I just dont understand why would religion be outlaw if individual is causing the issue. I dont care what religion a person is from but religion shouldnt be blame for period.

The only people the Muslims have to blame for people disliking them are the Muslims that blow them-selves up. When millions of followers of that faith do these extreme acts its only natural for people to start to look badly upon them.
Lets for argument sake imagine that all christian follow this law from bible and all muslims follow the same from Quran, that no one should drink, what will happen to businesses, who is earning great sum of money by selling it, Businesses and media hates what islam teaches. YES TEACHES, Islam says there is no compulsion in religion. Why there is a tie, lets be friends and try to understand each other, COME TO COMMON TERMS. MEDIA IS NO BODY’S FRIEND
Cupcake, plz lets just not listen to media, which is giving a certain picture to some bodies in this world for their own gains. How about all of us use our own intellegence and try to gain knowledge about each others religion in order to come to common terms. That will resolve several issues in the society, media is always try to influence confrontation among people, thats how they sell there news in several cases. Its business. Islam says don’t drink alcohol, christianity says the same——
Good! Instead of frittering away money on minarets, how about funding an education program for Muslim children to learn about Darwin’s Theory of Evolution? Now, that would represent progress we can believe in!
That’s a good start. Let’s now progress toward having as many mosques in Europe as there are churches in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, let’s speed up turning churches into museums, concert halls, theatres and art galleries etc

Many people were surprised by this vote?..
How so?.. They had to collect 100,000 votes to even get the referendum to go ahead. And it passed with a 57 per cent vote. The general Swiss population is fairly conservative in nature and why anyone is surprised by this vote is beyond me.
Can somebody give me the name of any European country where Muslims are wanted and welcomed in any numbers by the ordinary man and woman in the street? Seriously? They cause problems wherever they go.
Considering that every country that has Islam as a state religion has various human rights issues directly correlating to their religion (aka, Iran passing a law that allows the execution of those who leave the Islamic faith, a traditionally prescribed punishment), there fears are well founded.
