Looking a little deeper at this. I think the Swiss Muslims could have done much more to allay public fears during the referendum campaign. It is a bit of a PR failure on the part of the Swiss Muslims really.
But all is not lost. It is a democratic country, with a constitution and there are avenues available to get the ruling reversed.
The question is will Muslims use these. Or will we see the usual angry backlash with flag burnings etc..
go and pray in your fucking mosque and everybody will be happy…you don’t need any minaret for that!

In all fairness, I think we should treat Islam the same as any other religions. Since people have taken it upon themselves to bend over backwards to appease the religious nitwits, why single out Islam. I would of course like for all religions to be treated equally…with equal disdain.

According to some reports. The Swiss women were behind the ban and the older generation were the ones who were supportive of their Muslim citzenry. Else they would not have been allowed to settle in Switzerland.
Women’s Rights groups do not like the idea of Minarets and veiled women, which means the younger people are starting to become more radical against Islamist ideals.

There are more than 400 Mosques in Italy.
There are 150 Muslim places of worship in Athens alone. Not exactly Saudi, Pakistan or Egypt.
As I have stated with others, I have no problems with Mosques or Minarets.
I have problems with Calls to prayer and Chuch bells ringing to disturb sleeping people.
