Expelled for fundamentalism – last week France sent Muslim preacher Ali Ibrahim El Soudany back to his home country of Egypt. For several months he had apparently been inciting violence against the West in mosques near Paris. France 24’s correspondent in Cairo has been in touch with him.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is alleged to have infiltrated several mosques across the country in the hope of finding Muslims who are planning attacks. Al Jazeera spoke with an ex-convict who claims the FBI assigned him to spy on Muslims in the state of California. Some Muslims there say he went even further – trying to encourage them to commit attacks. Gabriel Elizondo reports.
